Darkest Night (Krampus)
Hidden beneath the tinsel and cheer of the holiday season lurks an ancient figure steeped in myth and folklore.
Thought to represents the primal forces of the natural world, reminding people of the balance between light and dark, order and chaos as we enter the darkest part of the year.
He is often seen as St Nicholas's (Santa) darker counterpart, one bearing gifts while the other punishes wrong doing and reminding us that our actions good or bad have consequences and we will have to pay the price!
He is a perfect reminder of the ancient roots and traditions of Yule and acknowledging the old ways and how our ancestors met the spirits of winter.
