Maiden, Mother, Crone mixed media sculptures. Created for The Creative Covens event 'Weaving creative threads in remembrance of the Scottish witch hunts'.
Working in various materials and techniques I allowed the personalities and stories of the accused witches to flow thru me as these women's images came to life under my hands.
Layers of calico, glue and clay formed their features while their skin was of printed linen carefully stretched and sculped to the contours of their faces. Their hair is made of dyed wool roving and dressings of linen and calico form caps, shawls etc.
